We are currently accepting applications for the following: Teachers, Teacher Aides, and Peer Tutors for camps in four locations: Nowy Sącz, Otwock, Suwałki, and Załęcze Wielkie applicants should indicate if they have a preference for a specific location on the application form.

  • Nowy Sącz will serve adult women learners (see below in the Nowy Sącz section for more information about this exciting new model!)
  • Otwock will serve students ages 10-18
  • Suwałki will serve students ages 8-16.
  • Załęcze Wielkie will serve students ages 10-18

2024 Application Guidelines for New and Returning Applicants

Applications due January 31, 2024

All applicants must provide the documents outlined on the official application form. You will NOT be able to save the application and return to it if not completed in one sitting (allow yourself approximately a half hour to complete the application). If something does not apply to you, please write N/A (in the case of Teacher Aides and Peer Tutors). When preparing to submit the application, it is recommended that you have the following items on hand:

  1. Passport Information (Please check passport validity and ensure that it will be valid six months following the camp dates. Due to passport processing delays, please apply for a new or renewed passport as soon as possible to ensure that you have it on time for the camp)
  2. Lesson Plan (for Teacher applicants only)-  a lesson you have taught in the past or anticipate teaching in Poland.
  3. Headshot Photo of Yourself
  4. Completed Eagle-Orzeł Personal Health Disclosure and Physician Certificate – Please use our Physician Certificate form as no other forms will be accepted.
  5. Names and Email Addresses of Two References. Send the Recommender Form link to each of your references.
  6. Copy of Teacher Certification (for Teacher applicants)

Calendar for 2024 Summer Camps

June 27-July 15, 2024 (dates TBC)*

Nowy Sącz

Located in the Małopolskie province of southern Poland. It is situated along the Dunajec River, a tributary of the Vistula River. Nowy Sącz lies in the heart of the Beskid Sadecki Mountains – one of the most attractive tourist regions of Poland, famous for therapeutic waters, a refreshing climate and wonderful scenery. The camp will be held in cooperation with the non-profit organization, “Active Women’s Club” – Klub Aktywnych Kobiethttps://klubaktywnychmam.wordpress.com/.

About the camp in Nowy Sącz:

The 2023 camp in Nowy Sącz represents the latest innovative offering from Eagle-Orzeł Educational and Cultural Exchange. This camp will be dedicated to the professional development of women aged 25-55. Utilizing the “Leadership and Civic Engagement” (LACE) model, this camp will engage adult women learners in enhancing their conversational English language skills and leadership capacities through lessons focused on topics such as effective communication, working in and with non-profit organizations, family life, and personal enrichment. During the day, US volunteers will visit sites of historical, cultural, and economic significance in and near Nowy Sącz. Lessons will take place in the late afternoon/evening. Eagle-Orzeł Educational and Cultural Exchange, Inc. looks forward to collaborating with the vibrant leaders of the “Active Women’s Club”.

Otwock (CAPLA)

Located in central Poland (23 kilometers southeast of Warsaw), Otwock is a town of nearly 43,000 inhabitants. It is situated on the right bank of Vistula River below the mouth of the Swider River. Otwock is home to a unique architectural style called Swidermajer. The camp will be held in cooperation with the Powiatowy Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury: https://pmdk-otwock.pl.

Suwałki (CAPLA)

Suwałki is a city in northeastern Poland with a population of 69,206. It is the capital of Suwałki County and one of the most important centers of commerce in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Suwałki is the largest city and the capital of the historical Suwałki Region. Suwałki is located about 30 km (19 mi) from the southwestern Lithuanian border and gives its name to the Polish protected area known as Suwałki Landscape Park. The Czarna Hańcza river flows through the city. https://soksuwalki.eu We are partnering with the Suwalski Ośrodek Kultury.

Załęcze Wielkie (American Culture Camp)

Załęcze Wielkie is located in the southwest part of Poland near the city of Wieluń. Ośrodek Szkoeniowo-Wypoczykowy ZHP “Nadwarciański Gród is scout camp situated on the premises of the Załęczańskiego Parku Krajobrzaowego and near the Warta River. https://zalecze.zhp.pl

This is an overnight camp and draws children from all over Poland.
