STEM Camp Model
Creativity. Innovation. Inspiration.
The fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) offer exciting avenues for students to develop proficiency and fluency in the English language. Eagle-Orzel Educational and Cultural Exchange, Inc. has expanded its program offerings with a camp model where the sciences support English language learning.
The first STEM-focused camp organized by our organization occurred in the summer of 2026 through collaboration with the Wiśniowski Fab Lab in Wielogłowy, Poland. With state-of-the-art equipment, the Wiśniowski Fab Lab invites visitors to explore 3D printing, robotics, upcycling and sewing, electronics, and modeling and prototyping. This setting, combined with the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape of the Nowy Sacz region, provides a generative space for campers and volunteers to engage in design thinking and inquiry …. all while immersed in the English language!
During the inaugural STEM-focused camp in Wielogłowy in 2026, campers built bottle rockets, sewed their own plush toys, tested structural designs using spaghetti sticks and marshmallows, learned how to play American football, and much more. With the STEM-inspired camp model, volunteer teachers harness the power of the sciences to build their students’ English language skills while simultaneously developing their ability to ask questions, investigate the world, and explore phenomena.
